If you don't know EMMETT, the booker, you don't know OAKLAND Rock n Roll. From way before he started putting on shows at the infamous PORT LITE bar, Emmett's been giving his heart and soul to keep the scene alive by giving bands 'A' place to play, and a square no-nonsense deal at the end of the night. not to mention his work with FOOD STAMP RECORDS which produced TWO compilations of local bands. all for free.
Sure, he's probably pissed-off a lot of you off with his close-to-the-knuckle stand-up routine, abrupt phone manners & gruff one-liners outside when he's taking a cig break, but you know? he's also put on some great shows, helped out a lot of cool bands when they were getting started and sometimes made as many people laugh during tense moments while the bands change-over.
However, personal tragedy has visited EMMETT's family a little too much lately, in the last weeks he's lost a sister-in-law and a brother
The staff at the Stork Club would like to do someting to raise some funds for his now-orphaned nephews.
We'd kinda' like to show our appreciation and maybe help out a little during these extremely difficult times. all proceeds will go to the Cardigan-Scott Trust Fund
